I’m a pupil in Year 9, 10 or 11. My school has subscribed to SciFly. How can I get free access?
Make sure that you have been given the school username and password. Your biology teacher will have these details. You will also be asked to enter your teaching group or set. Proceed as follows:
Click on the ’Register’ button in the Registration box on the home page. Fill in your details carefully taking particular care with your email address. This is the only way that SciFly can ’talk’ to you. Make a note of your password since you will need this to sign in each time you visit the site. Your teacher should have told you which GCSE Science course you are studying and your teaching group or set name/number. If not, guess for now - you can change it later if necessary.
When you have filled in the school username and password, click on ’submit’. This takes you to your profile. You can visit your profile any time to alter or update your details. Now click on the tests tab and get revising! Don’t forget to log out when you leave.
What are the minimum technical requirements for viewing SciFly on my computer?
The following specifications are recommended for viewing www.SciFly.co.uk. Other specifications and settings may allow access to the website but the appearance of the pages may alter slightly.
Internet Browser: Internet Explorer v.6.0 or later; Firefox v.1 or later; Netscape v.7 or later; Safari v.312 or later.

Screen colours: 16 bit or higher.
Screen resolution: 800 pixel width or greater.

Security issues: In your Internet Options (Privacy Settings), Session Cookies should be enabled.
If you have any difficulties viewing the website, please don’t hesitate to contact SciFly on info@scifly.co.uk.
How can I find out which topics in my Science course are covered in each test?
Click on the ’Tests’ tab and you’ll be taken to your exam board page. Select one of the two modules (three for OCR-21C) to be shown a list of tests available for that module. Beside the name of each test is an ’Overview’ button. Click this to see a list of all the topics covered by the foundation and higher tests.
When I registered, I entered the wrong Science course. How can I change it?
Click on the ’My Profile’ tab. Near the bottom of the page, you’ll find a menu of the 7 GCSE courses. Select your new choice and click ’submit’. Now when you select ’Tests’, you’ll be taken to the new Science course.
I’m a teacher. Can I see a list of my school’s pupils who have registered with SciFly, together with their test scores?
You certainly can! Sign in using the email address and password that was used to subscribe your school. This opens your school’s profile.
Now click on ’View pupils registered in your school’.
Select a year - 9, 10 or 11. All the pupils registered in that year will be listed.
To see the pupils in a particular group/set, click on the name/number of that set.
Finally, click on ’show all results’. You’ll see a complete set of results for every pupil in that group or set.
Help! I’ve forgotten my password.
No problem. Simply email info@scifly.co.uk and we’ll reply with your password. For security purposes, you must:
[1] email from the email address that you sign in with; if this is not possible, include this email address in the text of your email. SciFly can only identify you from this email address.
[2] include your full name
I am a teacher who has subscribed my school but I am having difficulties accessing the tests.
Once you have subscribed your school and completed the payment process, you need to register yourself as a user in order to access the tests.
Simply return to the home page and click on Register. Follow the instructions which include entering your personal email address and password (don’t use the same email and password that you used when subscribing your school.) When you have finished, log out and then sign in using your personal email and password.
Your pupils should follow exactly the same procedure for accessing the tests themselves.
Why don’t the full module exams start with question 1 and continue in sequence?
Each module exam is unique since the website takes a random selection of questions on that module from the database. While the number of questions will always be the same, the combination of questions will change. Sometimes this means starting with a question whose number is not 1!
